Giving Power to the Homeowner!

Here are some things to keep in mind when hiring someone for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning:
  • Have they been in business a long time? In today’s market, A LOT of companies are popping up, just to make a buck. Companies who have been in business a long time have more experience and are more reliable. (Generally)
  • How do they advertise? Companies with ads on TV, the radio, or BIG ads in the phone book and magazines pay RIDICULOUS amounts of money for those ads.  You as the consumer pay for those! Whether that’s through higher prices, or less qualified technicians.
  • How much education do they have?  Are your technicians licensed, and are they Journeyman or are they John Doe off the street? (For more information on Journeyman and they’re licensing, check out our Plumbing Page.) HVAC contractors, are only required have to have a certificate, BUT they CAN have more training through a trade school! I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer my contractor have that extra education.
